How long does it take to meal prep Vs Lions Prep

What would you rather; devote two hours to preparing a healthy meal prep from scratch – or just three minutes with Lions Prep?

Meal prep really does require precision, patience and organisation if you want to get it right. Everything from the supermarket shop, carefully measuring out or chopping up the many ingredients, and then the cooking itself. That’s not even factoring all the washing up afterwards.

While meal planning in advance is a very useful way to save you time and energy throughout the week, you still have to sacrifice several hours to devote yourself to it on your set prep day. So, the Lions Prep team thought we would conduct a test to see how long it takes to whip up freshly cooked nutritious meals made from scratch, from start to finish.

We decided to recreate the Red Thai Prawns with Jasmine Rice & Stir-Fried Vegetables dish from our menu.

Time factors to consider

When cooking your meals there some additional time draining tasks that apply when you go it alone:

  • Time to travel to the supermarket for ingredients and back (15 minutes)
  • Time spent in the shop looking for the ingredients (15 minutes)
  • How long it takes to prepare the ingredients (20 minutes)
  • The cooking and proportioning once everything was ready (50 minutes)
  • Washing up the dishes afterwards (20 minutes)
